Hematoid Quartz is a unique member of the quartz family, gaining its name thanks to the reddish-brown or orangey colour which is created by the inclusions of Iron Oxide or Hematite. Hematoid quartz can also sometimes be named Fire Quartz or Harlequin Quartz names which again are due to the inclusions sometimes resembling flames or a harlequin diamond pattern.
Often used for its grounding and balancing properties, Hematoid Quartz is also said to help increase focus and concentration, improve self-esteem and provide a sense of stability and security. Hematoid Quartz hold healing properties particularly for blood-related issues such as Anemia.
Hematoid Quartz is found in several places around the world these include Brazil, Madagascar and the United States.
This particular piece is carved into a hexagon shaped bowl, approximately 9cm from widest point to point and stands approx 2.5cms high. Being bowl shaped means this can be used for a multitude of different purposes. These bowls are sometimes named different things such as: Prayer Bowls, Offering Bowls, Elixir Bowls to name some. These bowls can be used to hold things such as other crystals (though only a couple, or smaller stones due to size), water can be held in there to make an elixir.
